C.Ni las ciudades ni el género humano se librarán del mal, pienso yo, hasta que los filósofos gobiernen como reyes, o bien aquellos que ahora llevan el nombre de rey o gobernante estudien filosofía de manera auténtica y adecuada, hasta que se unifiquen el poder político y la filosofía y hasta que los muchos que ahora van por uno u otro camino no sean definitivamente apartados de ellos.

Neither the city nor the human race is freed from evil, I think, until philosophers rule as kings or those who now bear the name of king or ruler to study philosophy in an authentic manner and appropriate until they are unified political power and philosophy and even the many who are now in a way or another are not definitely away from them.
